EASTER EGG CANDY HOLDER!

Isn't this just the coolest way to display your favorite chocolate egg? I have been dieting, and keeping the candy in this pretty box is a sure way to keep me from poppin' it in my mouth!
I got the pattern for this little project from Kim Score~~she rules the punch world in my book. AND her pattern is FREE. I made a couple tiny little changes and used some Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, and I added a little ribbon on the top of my box (instead of her beautiful bow). I decided to go with the little ribbon, so that you can just grab hold of the ribbon and pull the top off.

Thanks, Kim, for the awesome pattern!

FRESH VINTAGE FREE STAMPIN' UP! STAMP SET!

Here is one of the make-and-take cards we made at the Rubber Room Occasions Mini Catalog Open House last night. I love the elegant/vintage look it has!
To make this card we used the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (FREE in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog) and markered our image with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke Stamp N' Write Markers and then stamped it onto some Very Vanilla Card Stock. Then we set a Labels Collection Framelits for the Big Shot over our stamped image and cut out the "label" shape. We also used some Soft Suede Card Stock and our Labels Collection Framelits to make a "label" shape to layer our Very Vanilla "label" shape onto. We added another layer of Very Vanilla Card Stock that was embossed with the Tulips Frame Embossing Folder for the Big Shot. To give our card an elegant/vintage look we daubered/sponged some Soft Suede Classic Ink onto our embossed tulips!

TRYING SOMETHING NEW!

I spent some time over the weekend downloading apps on my iPad and trying to figure out how to takes photos, add watermarks and post to my blog all from my iPad. Below is my first try! I need more practice with my camera, but I am pleased with the results, all things considered. And nobody was injured in the process~~no kicking the dog or taking shots at my son (who was supposedly helping me)
After you check it out (and are done laughing), please leave me a comment and let me know what you think, or if you have any tips!

A QUILTING WE WILL GO!

This gorgeous creation comes to you compliments of "That Michelle"!

To create her card, "That Michelle", cut 16 squares of Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog) that were 1" x 1". She then glued all her squares onto a regular piece of copy paper. When they were all glued down, she put a Heart Framelit (the Framelits Dies Hearts Collection is also available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog) on top of all of her DSP squares and put it through the Big Shot to cut out this beautiful heart! To accessorise this gorgeous card, she added some Blusing Bride 3/8" pleated Satin Ribbon (found in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog) and two little hearts punched with the Heart To Heart Stampin' Up! Punch that have little Basic Pearls Jewels in the middle of them. "That Michelle" shares the best stuff with all of us in our demonstrator group~~and then I get to share it with you!

RUBBER ROOM BLOG UPDATES!

I have been unable to post to my blog for the past couple weeks, and I have really missed it! I believe that I am finally back on track and that things just might be settling down enough that I can begin to post again on a regular basis. I will be adding some "extra posts" over the next few days, and I hope you will enjoy being back in the Rubber Room with me.

ICE CREAM SODA!

I found this pattern online, and I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I printed it off and can't find it again to give the creator credit. If you created this great card, please let me know. I would love to give you credit and include a link to your blog!

I shared this card with my demonstrator gals, and they enjoyed it. I did make a few changes from the original card idea, but didn't venture too far off her idea. I made my straw from some leftover holiday Designer Series Paper that I had on hand, and I also added some Cherry Scented Stampin' Emboss Powder to the "ice cream" part, so it's nice and smelly. I'm telling you, this card is just so stinkin' fun!

This is a little close-up view so you can, hopefully, see a little of the shiny part where it was embossed, and you also get a good view of the Glimmer Paper, which I LOVE!

Wondering how I got pink Glimmer Paper? It is actually Silver Glimmer Paper! You read that right. I took a little bit of Regal Rose Re-Inker and put it in the top of one of my brad holders (the little plastic container), and then I took my Aqua Painter, dipped it in the re-inker and brushed it on my Glimmer Paper~~voila, Glimmer Paper in any color your heart desires!

TOTALLY TOOLS WITH A FAUX METAL BACKGROUND!

The faux metal background is a quick and easy way to add lots of texture to your card and give it a unique look. AND it is so easy to do!

For this card I used the Totally Tools Stampin' Up! stamp set. I embossed my hammer on both Real Red card stock and some Brushed Silver card stock. Then I cut the images out and layered them on top of one another so the hammer had a silver head and a red handle.

For the Faux Metal Background, I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to 5 1/4" x 4" and then I also cut a piece of tin foil (regular ole' tin foil) to approximately 5 3/4" x 4 1/2" and I glued the tin foil to my piece of Whisper White card stock and then flipped it over and folded the "excess" tin foil over the back of the card and glued it there also. Then I just took my piece of tin foil wrapped Whisper White card stock and put it inside my Houndstooth Embossing Folder for my Big Shot and ran it through the Big Shot. I told you it was easy!!

CREATIVE ELEMENTS STAMPIN' UP! STYLE!

Creative Elements is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets! The stamp images in this set are so versatile you can use them for sympathy cards, "artsy" cards, birthday cards.... the creative possibilities are endless!

I wanted to keep this card simple and easy to make, because we were making it at a Rubber Room event. I used some Daffodil Delight and Basic Black card stock and classic ink. I also used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder for the Big Shot to add a little texture to my background.

LET IT SNOW!

I'm thankful for a sunny morning, but that means that Phil saw his shadow when he popped his head outside ths morning.

I suppose that a winter lasting well into March or even early April won't be all bad. We really haven't had too much snow and cold yet, so I guess I just need to "buck up". After all, I do live in Michigan!

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY TO ALL!

WHEN CAN WE EXPECT SPRING?

February 2nd is GroundHog Day~~the official "telling" of when spring will arrive!

Will the world-famous Punxsutawney Phil groundhog in Punxsutawney, PA see his shadow on February 2, 2012? If he does~~there's going to be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't~~the forecast is for an early spring.

So far it's been a fairly mild winter here in Michigan, and I'm hoping for an early spring!

Hugs from the Rubber Room
