KERI'S GREAT MASCULINE BOX!

When I attended my little retreat in Lansing, all the demonstrators in our group shared some great projects. This is one of the projects Keri shared. We made this box.
Then we made four cards like this to put inside the box. Each of the four cards was a different color.

FUN FLOWERS NAME TAG FLOWER!

I have been getting lots of emails about how to make the flower on this great name tag from my Creative Escape Weekend in Lansing. I did not make this flower, so I do not know the specific details on how it was made. However, I have made them in the past and below I will tell you how I made mine.
Here is how I make a 3D Distressed Flower. In the example above, for the flower put some Rich Razzleberry Card Stock through the Big Shot with the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die. Once you have all three flowers cuts, you wad/scrunch them up. I like to spritz mine with a little bit of water first (don't soak them, just a nice little mist). This helps to break the card stock fibers and make it easier to scrunch. After I get them all scrunched up, I sponge the edges (I sponge them with the same color ink as the cardstock) to give it a little bit more of a distressed look. Then just adhere the flowers together. For the flower on this sample they attached a Summer Smooches Fabric Designer Brad in the middle; but you can use whatever accessory you would like there (button, brad, jewel, etc.). Once I have the flower together and accessorized, I mix a little bit of Smooch Spritz (to give my flower a little "shimmer") with some hairspray. If you don't want a stiff flower, mix the Smooch Spritz with water. I mix this in a little spray bottle with three parts hairspray (or water) to one part Smooch Spritz. Then I mist this over my flower. I like the "stiff" feel to my flowers when I am using them for 3D projects; and the softer feel for when I am putting them on my cards.

This is one of those techniques where you just need to play around with it and see what works best for you. Some ladies like to use their bone folder to help breakdown the card stock fibers before they scrunch; some like to spritz it with water before they scrunch; some love to scrunch the dry card stock.... there is no wrong way to get a good scrunch~~so go with whatever is comfortable and works for you.

CREATIVE ESCAPE WEEKEND FUN!!

I want to send out a huge hug and thank you to Ronda Wade and Tamie Ackerson! These gals put the Creative Escape Weekend in Lansing together, and they truly outdid themselves. Every one there was treated like a princess all weekend and spoiled with little gifties. If you ever get a chance to attend a Creative Escape Weekend, I highly suggest you take it. It is like a weekend of relaxation and therapy and creativity and pampering....

Here are a few of the gifties I received. I love the "personalization", just another way to make me feel special!

This is a little luggage tag they made using some of the Summer Smooches Designer Series Fabric. It is so adorable.

This little box was made with the Matchbox Die for the Big Shot, and it is full of cute little buttons.

This was my name tag. The big flower is so beautiful. It is all stiff and can be used to adorn lots of different projects. I am thinking of adding it to a little stationery bag.

Thank you again, ladies~~you are fantastic!!

SUMMER SMOOCHES PETITE PURSE BIGZ L DIE!

I was way lucky to win the Petite Purse Bigz L Die last weekend at the Creative Weekend Escape I attended; and I am way excited about it! Here are some samples of this great die!

This little purse was shared by "That Michelle" at our demonstrator get together last week. She put four Hershey Nuggets inside the purse!

This is one we made as a make and take item in Lansing last weekend. I love the dotted ribbon handle and the Summer Smooches Fabric Designer Brad adds such a cute little "closure"!

This little purse was a little thank you we got in Lansing, and it is filled with ribbon!

BRIGHT BLOSSOMS BEAUTY!

This is the brightest, fun card; and it just makes me smile!
Print Friendly and PDF
I was super lucky this past weekend and spent it in Lansing at a get away that was put on by another demonstrator, Ronda Wade, and two dear friends of mine. It was just an awesome weekend that re-energized my creative juices and was relaxing and fun.... Throughout the weekend we had lots of make-and-take projects to do, and this was one of them!

We used the Bright Blossoms Stampin' Up! stamp set and some Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper, along with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies for the Big Shot to make this card. The Bright Blossoms Stamp Set and the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper are part of the Summer Smooches Special Offer in April. They are products that will be offered in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog, which makes its debut in June of 2012, and you can order them in April, before they are available in the new catalog.

EVEN MORE EASTER TREATS!

I saw this cute little jar decorated with a bunny on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website, and I decided this would be a great way to use up the rest of my Easter candies. If you can't tell, I am trying to do anything I can with them, other than popping them into my mouth and watching my hips expand! This is so much cuter (atleast I think so).

MIXED BUNCH CHOCOLATE TREAT!

I believe the original creator of this cute little treat was fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Sara Willis (atleast that is where I saw it first). I just thought it was the cutest quick little treat, that I had to make some. For some reason when I decorate chocolate, I find I am much less likely to eat it!
For these adorable little treats I used the Mixed Bunch Stampin' Up! Stamp Set and the coordinating Stampin' Up! Blossom Punch. Both of these items are available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog.

LABELS FRAMELITS COLLECTION BOX!

I am really loving the Framelits, but I can't decide if I like the Hearts Collection or the Labels Collection best.
This is a little box "That Michelle" and I made during our stamping fun day. We used the Labels Framelits Collection for the Big Shot (available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog) to make the sides of the box and the box itself is the Box #2 Die for the Big Shot. Of course, we had to add a little candy to the box!
