MORE HANDMADE SHOPPING STUFF!

I am still working on stuff for Friday's sale! I have so much I want to do, and so little time left~~but it's always fun making goodies.

My downline Michelle shared these really cool little "compacts and lipsticks" where the top of the lipstick pulls off and is a pen and the compact opens to hold a little sticky note pad. I thought they were so neat, that I made some for the sale.

Then I couldn't find a cello bag that looked nice and fit right, so I decided to make a little bag to put them in. I thought a non-holiday theme would be good so it could be used for a birthday gift or a thank you.... anyhow, here's what I came up with. This is just a white lunch sack that I cut down.

BLOG READERS ROCK!!

GLASS COASTERS FOR THE HOLIDAYS!

I am still working on stuff for my Handmade Holiday Shopping Extravaganza, and here's what I did today.

A little while ago I found these great glass coasters at my local Ace Hardware store. They were sold in sets of four mixed colors (one brown, one blue, one yellow and one green). I wanted to make a set of coasters that were all one color, so I purchased four sets. They come in a great little wooden holder too!

Here is what I came up with!

This first one I stamped in StazOn ink and then watercolored. The image is from the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Studio Sketches.

This one I stamped with the sentiment and the medium snowflake from Snow Swirled.

This one is the tree from Contempo Christmas. I added a little shimmer paint to the star, but I don't think you can really see it too well in this photo.

This last one is stamped with the Aviary stamp set, and I made all four birds (one for each coaster) a different color.

SNOWMAN TREAT BOX!

It has been absolutely freezing here in Michigan, and I saw snow two times this past week while I was walking. That surely put me in the snowman mood, and that is probably why I have snowmen on my brain lately!

Today I made some little gift boxes to hold goodies, and I will be filling and selling them at the Handmade Holiday Shopping Extravaganza I will be hosting this Friday. I am super busy putting things together, and I love sharing them with you! Here is a photo of my little snowman box.

This box is about the same size as the Fancy Favor Big Shot Die Box. I didn't have that die, so I just came up with a box that was similar to the die. I have purchased some snowman playing cards that I will put inside the box.

CURLY LABEL PUNCH MEETS THE SNOW!

Well, it certainly is no secret that I LOVE Stampin' Up! punches. Which means that none of you will be surprised to find yet another punch project here. I made this little snowman candy cane with an idea I got from Ronda Wade, another Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I swapped out a couple punches, added a brad.... and here is what I came up with!

I made 50 of these so that I would have some to sell at my upcoming Handmade Holiday Shopping Extravaganza. She is just so adorable and the perfect little thing to give to the teller at the bank, the check out gal who has been working overtime ringing up all those holiday purchases, the receptionist at the dentist's office.... You could even add a little ribbon loop at the top and make it an ornament. How cool would it be to decorate an entire little tree with these cuties!

NEED the deets?? I used the Curly Label Punch for the base and punched it with Whisper White Cardstock. Then I punched half of the Curly Label Punch with Basic Black Cardstock and also punched a Word Window Punch with Basic Black Cardstock. I couldn't decide on the flower color, so I used both Garden Green (pictured) and Real Red Cardstock (on some not pictured here ;o) to make flowers that were punched with the Boho Blossoms Punch and then I added a little black brad to the center of the flowers on the hat. I also made a back for my candy cane bag decoration, but I did not add a flower or face to the back of it. I used the mini candy canes, and they were perfect!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I wish you and your families and friends a peaceful time spent enjoying a wonderful meal and great company. Please know that today, and every day, I am thankful for all of you truly special people who visit my blog and share with me the stamping and creative experiences I love so much! Each of you helps to make the Rubber Room the awesome place where I know I will always enjoy myself!

PUNCHIE MITTENS!

Jackie Topa shared the idea to make these wonderful little mittens. If you haven't already guessed, they are made from punches. The Wide Oval Punch is the actual mitten part and the thumb is made with a heart from the Heart To Heart punch. I used the Tastefully Trim Big Shot die to make the "rick-rack" on the top part of the mittens. I wanted my strings (which I used hemp for) to be sort of squiggly, so I glued them down with my Two-Way Glue Pen. The sentiment says "Let It Snow" and is from the Stampin' Up! Punch Pals stamp set. I punched the sentiment out with the Word Window punch and mounted it onto a piece of card stock punched with the Modern Label punch. If you love your Stampin' Up! punches half as much as I do, this is the perfect card for you this winter!

HOLIDAY SHOPPING GIFTS!

Here are some candle boxes that I made for my upcoming Handmade Holiday Shopping Extravaganza. I used the same pattern I used for the tall liquid soap dispenser boxes and made a few adjustments as far as size so it would fit my candles. Then I decided I needed a different type bow on top. People don't want to untie a pretty bow to see what's inside the box, so I made just a little bow with my bow maker and attached it to the top. It is still very pretty, but nobody has to untie it!

This first photo shows the box all closed up.

And here is what it looks like from the top.

Here are two more that I made; you can see a little of the candle inside in these photos.

TOTALLY TOOLS FOR HOLIDAY GIFT CARD GIVING!

I have a Handmade Holiday Shopping Extravaganza coming up, and I have lots of goodies for the ladies, but need masculine things. Here is a little tool box gift card holder that I made. I purchased the pattern from Lynn Pratt and then went to work. It was a little labor intense, but I love the finished product!

Here is the box all closed up and ready for gift giving.

Just lift the lid, and there's a little gift card inside! I put my Kroger card in this one, but I'm sure it would look great with a Lowes gift card or Home Depot....

REGAL SECENIC SEASON!

This is a card we did at our Friday club this month. I used the Stampin' Up! Scenic Season stamp set for both the image and the sentiment. I did a little masking and sponging to get the "moon" effect. I love the finished look!

YOUR STAMPED TEALIGHTS BURN!

I have had tons of people email me asking if the tealights will burn with the tissue paper on them. The answer is YES! I burned a small one with the tissues paper and the card stock wrapped around it with no difficulty at all. I do suggest, though, that, as with burning any candle, you do not leave it unattended while it is burning!

Here is a link to a video where the gal has some lovely tea lights she made, and she shows actual photos of the tea light while it is burning. The post is about half way down her blog page. Just click HERE to see it.

VIDEO TUTORIAL FOR TEALIGHT BOXES!

It's Watch It Wednesday in the Rubber Room. This week I'm going to be sharing some quick packaging ideas for stamped tealights. Here is a photo of a four-box of tea lights.

Watch the video below to see how quick and easy it is to package tea lights in either a package of four or a package of three. I will walk you through step-by-step instructions on putting these packages together, and I will also give you the dimensions and patterns for your boxes!

I hope you enjoyed this Rubber Room Watch It Wednesday Video!

PRETTY, PRETTY PACKAGING!

I spend so much time making all my handmade gifts for the holidays, that I love to package them in pretty packages. Tomorrow on Watch It Wednesday in the Rubber Room, I will share how I decided to package my tealights.

Last week on Watch It Wednesday I shared with you how to stamp your tealights, and I "recycled" the original package my tealights came in.

I was so inspired by the response to the tealights, that I decided to stamp some regular-size tealights. They didn't come in packages I could recycle. SO, I made some little boxes with cardstock and then used a Stampin' Up! Window Sheet for the lid on the box and added some ribbon.

Here are a couple of samples of the ones I made.

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for the Watch It Wednesday Rubber Room Video, and I will give you the patterns for both of these boxes, and walk you through making them!

I am a little behind in posting photos of my 6x6 scrapbook pages for my First Friday club, so this post will catch me up! Club doesn't meet in December, so this is the scrapbook page we did at their November get together; but it is for Christmas.

We used lots of punches and had tons of fun putting this "frowl" santa together!
