GOODIES FROM THE RELAX AND CREATE RETREAT!

In addition to a goody bag (decorated with an owl), everyone who participated in the Relax and Create Retreat received some "thank you" goodies (with an owl theme).

This is a small water bottle everyone got in their goody bag.  This helped to keep them hydrated during their crafting extravaganza!

Everyone received this lovely cello bag treat full of chocolate and Smarties.  After all, our day was filled with sweet treats and ladies smart enough to enjoy all the fun!

This is a little package of TicTac mints we handed out after lunch, so everyone would be "minty" fresh as they faced the afternoon crafting challenges.

The Owl punch was used to make the TicTac treats and to decorate the water bottle.  The Top Note Die and several circle punches and one heart punch were used to make the owl face on the cello treat bag.  We had a great time at the retreat relaxing and creating with lots of wonderful women!  Stop back by tomorrow to see the rest of the projects we made.

MINI SCRAPBOOK FROM RELAX AND CREATE RETREAT!

I hope you are not already sick of the projects we made at the Relax and Create Retreat, because I do have a few more things to share with you.

This is the front of the mini scrapbook we made.

This is the front of the book and the first "pocket"
I added a little journaling to make it more personal.

This is the inside "pocket" of the book.

This is the inside back of the book.

And these tags fit into the "pockets".

This was one of my favorite projects from our Retreat, and I had a lot of fun personalizing it.  I know you are probably thinking, "yeah, it's cute, but what would I use it for?" (or something along those lines).  Here are just a few ideas off the top of my head:

1)   Great gift for Grandparents and/or new parents with a few photos of new grandchildren/children.  They can easily switch the photos out for new ones as the baby grows.  They can toss it in their purse/diaper bag and their brag book is always handy!

2)  Make them up with a  holiday theme, and once those holiday photos are printed, all you have to do is add them to this cute little mini scrapbook!  If you are going to a friend's house for a party, take a few photos and make a mini scrapbook of the event up to give your hostess as a thank you for inviting you to the party.

3) How about putting one together showcasing a favorite family vacation/event and using it as a stocking stuffer.

4)  Put some of those "selfies" to good use and treat your special someone to a scrapbook for his/her glove box, gym bag, office desk.....

5)  For those of you recently engaged, take those photos of you proposing, add them to a little mini scrapbook, and  share them with guests at your upcoming wedding.;

OR give each guest at your wedding/event a little mini scrapbook, and they they can use it to share their photos from the photo booth at your wedding/event  (just like I did).

6)  Make a mini birthday scrapbook for your child each year and keep them in a special place (or make a mini anniversary scrapbook of you and your husband each year as you celebrate your anniversary).  Keep a few of these in your sock drawer, then each morning, as you take out a pair of socks, you can pull out one of these mini scrapbooks.  It would only take a second, and you know that seeing the photos inside would be sure to put a smile on you face and start your day off happy and thankful!!

The possibilities are endless for this little gem.  Please share what your plans for this Mini Scrapbook might be.

NEW WEEKLY DEALS!

I just love Tuesday at Stampin' Up!

PROJECT LIFE BY STAMPIN' UP!

Project Life offers a great alternative to the traditional scrapbooking style of documenting your life experiences.  Project Life is a memory keeping system that allows us to still experience life while documenting it~~as opposed to spending so much time scrapbooking, we don't have time to enjoy life.  Stampin' Up! has released two great videos showcasing how easy it is to use Project Life, and I invite you to enjoy them right here and now.

This is not your traditional scrapbooking, but it is a quick and easy way to present your photographs and document your life experiences without being overwhelmed by the task.  January, 2015 will see the launch of the Memory Keepers Monthly group in the Rubber Room.  This is your opportunity to get  a handle on those photographs lying around and have fun putting them all into albums.  This group will meet once a month so you can stay on top of those photos.  This is also a great opportunity for all those new  (and not-so-new) grandparents to start memory keeping for those little ones while they are experiencing all of their "firsts".  Visit my blog to watch the videos and see exactly what I am talking about, and then contact me to join Memory Keepers Monthly!  If you are one of the first five to join, you will receive a special gift from me.

MORE RELAX AND CREATE RETREAT PROJECTS

This is a card holder and three cards we made to put inside it.  The card holder is made with a pattern that was provided by fellow SU! demonstrator and friend, Emma Fewkes.  The "tabs" were made using the Tab Framelits Dies for the Big Shot and the DSP is from the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack in the Holiday catalog.

SAD NEWS!

It is the first of November, and since I have taken the holidays "off" for the past two years, it is time for me to get back in the saddle, so to speak.  Since November is here, I need to get myself organized and garner that "plan" so I can enjoy somewhat stress-free holidays with family and friends this year. My goal is to begin addressing my cards the first week in November so they will be ready to put in the mail right after Thanksgiving.  With that goal in mind, I am finishing creating cards this weekend. For all of my customers who are finishing (or getting started) with creating their cards, it is with a heavy heart I pass along this message from Stampin' Up!  Stampin' Up! is experiencing some significant delays at their west coast ports due to a breakdown in negotiations with union dock workers.

These delays have, and will, impact the following back-ordered items until an agreement is reached:  a) Wonderful Wreath Framelits Die (item 135851); b) Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die (item 135853); c) Tree Punch (item 135859); d) November My Paper Pumpkin kit (potential back-order issues)

In light of this development, I will be adding some "play" days/evenings to my November calendar. These "play" times will allow you to bring your own consumables (card stock, ribbons, buttons, etc....) to the Rubber Room and use my punches, framelits, etc... to work on your holiday cards, treats, packaging....  Here in the Rubber Room we know how to make the best of a bad situation!  We will have snacks, coffee, lots of holiday inspiration AND a time to relax with friends while we complete our home made gifts~~not to mention tons of fun!

Be sure to check my calendar for dates for upcoming "play" times.  These dates will also be included in my November Newsletter.  If you don't receive the Rubber Room Newsletter, just use the "newsletter" button on the upper-left sidebar to sign up and have it delivered right to your email box.

Hugs from the Rubber Room
